Teaching medical physiology not only helps to understand the mechanisms of how the human body functions but also the principles of the methods used to represent, quantify, and evaluate these functions. This is one of the important objectives of physiology and its practical tasks.

The aim of this publication is to provide students of medicine studying in English at the Jessenius Faculty of Medicine, Comenius University, with descriptions and instructions on how to use various methods for investigating basic blood parameters, the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, as well as other systems of the human body. The publication includes nearly 100 practical tasks explaining the principles and procedures of investigations, from blood sampling methods in humans to the examination of sensory systems, reflexes, and certain functional characteristics of the central nervous system.
